Caesar (Courtesy Post for Pugalug Rescue)

Ceasar (healthy 12 yr. old male) is looking for a relatively calm forever home/family. His favourite things in the world are being with people and eating. He thinks broccoli is just as good as cookies. Ceasar is currently a caesarperfect weight but loves all food and, according to his medical history, has the potential to be overweight. Ceasar can go up stairs but cannot come down himself; he needs to be lifted. We are not sure why Ceasar has a head tilt but it does not present any ongoing medical problems. It could be senior vestibular which may never happen again; we have not seen it in his foster home. His heart is a wee bit enlarged but does not present any medical problems. He went through his dental surgery with flying colours. Ceasar sees and hears quite well. He takes supplements for healthy joints as he does have a bit of calcification on his spine and arthritis/ Much to our pleasure, Ceasar has no behaviour issues. He was a bit clingy when we initially got him but, once he learns the routine and knows someone will come back for him, he has adapted incredibly well. We do not know how Ceasar is with children. We would consider older children simply due to his age; he needs a gentle, firm hand to lift him, he does not have the energy or body to play much and he needs, wants and deserves quite a bit of attention. Ceasar could live in a house or apartment/condo. When we go out, our neighbours have been listening to see if he barks and have reported that he does not. He does bark when he hears the car return. We X pen him for his own safety -- if he goes up the stairs, he cannot come down by himself and we don't want him to try or get upset. Ceasar is completely house trained; he has never had an accident in his foster home. He sleeps in the big bed with his people. Ceasar is an absolute joy to have around. He is very well behaved, smart and affectionate. If you have ever considered adding a senior pug to your family, Ceasar is the one. He still has lots of energy and love to give. Ceasar need a loving home for his sunset years. Cagney and Lacey

Are 3-4 year spayed female Pugs who's somewhat pugilistic appearance belie their disarmingly delightful personalities. These babes soak up affection like soft little sponges and give back as good as they get with snuffling kisses and gyrations of their curled tails. They are currently enjoying the good life in foster care, a far cry from their previous existence as breeding dogs. They are quite a bonded pair and although their curiosity takes cagneyandlaceythem on mini adventures in the yard they are always looking out for each other for support and assurance. Perhaps their mutual affection has been the only light in their otherwise joyless lives. Cagney and Lacey have not, however, been deprived of ample nourishment and perhaps food has been a source of comfort to them. A weight reduction plan coupled with a healthy exercise regime would restore them to proper Pug proportions - although Pug people know that slim-line Pugs are not the norm. We would love to see these little girls adopted together but separate excellent homes would be considered. Please note, contact Anne and Pete dirrectly at: (905) 939 - 2692 or email @ annandpete@sympatico.ca. ***No young children due to their smaller size and vulnerability****

Meet Rosie !

Our newest rescue. She's a Jack Russel Terrier/Pug cross. She is 18 mos old. Healthy, housebroken, knows the name of all her toys and will bring them to you. No behavioral issues that we see so far and she is good with cats, kids and other dogs (both large and small). She would do well in an "active" home, though rosieshe does settle nicely for a cuddle, so a bit "Pug like" in that regard. There's nothing this little dog can't do. Smart as a whip. She's going to be a LOT of fun, for the right family!

Alice (Courtesy Post for Pugalug Rescue)

Alice (Courtesy Post for Pugalug Rescue) Alice is a smiling, happy, sweet female pug, with very short little legs and has an uncanny resemblance to a seal pup. She is very sweet, affectionate and can be very much in your face (she is only too happy to give you a face wash if you let her). Her funny little walk is quite aliceendearing. Surprisingly, being so vertically challenged does not prevent her from running pretty fast to fetch a toy and jumping up on the sofa. This is a courtesy post for Pugalug Rescue, and for more detailed information about this sweet girl please follow the link provided @ http://www.pugalug.com/alice.html
